Study Pathways to Permanent Residence

There are multiple programs through which international students can apply for Permanent Residence after completing their studies in Canada. After successfully finishing their program, students may be eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP), which is generally issued for a duration equivalent to the length of their studies. This allows graduates to stay in Canada and gain valuable work experience for several years before applying for permanent residency.

International students can become eligible for Canadian Permanent Residence through different immigration pathways, including the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), Quebec’s immigration system, or the Express Entry selection system. These programs provide structured opportunities for skilled graduates to transition from study to work and eventually settle permanently in Canada.
